Sky Deutschland extends lease for 30,000 square metres at its headquarters in Unterföhring

Frankfurt, 17. Juni 2026 – Sky Deutschland GmbH has confirmed its long-term commitment to its headquarters in Unterföhring near Munich: the media group has extended the lease on its Medienallee 26 headquarters by ten years.
The property, built in 2010, comprises around 30,000 sq m of lettable space, all of which is occupied by the media company. With its location, situated within an established media and office cluster in Unterföhring, the Sky headquarters is one of the most prominent corporate sites in the Munich area.
During the negotiations, the Silverton Group oversaw asset management and supported the restructuring on behalf of the creditors. In close consultation with the insolvency administrator Béla Knof from the international law firm White & Case LLP, a long-term strategy for the office building was also developed and implemented.
Savills acted as an adviser and intermediary for the tenant throughout the entire lease extension process. An initial market sounding and the evaluation of alternative locations ultimately led to the decision in favour of the property, which stood out for its quality and lease terms.
'It is in complex situations such as this that the importance of an integrated approach combining asset management and strategic advice becomes apparent. Securing the tenant at an early stage through a long-term lease extension is a key component in stabilising the asset and ensuring long-term value preservation in the interests of the creditors,' said Michael Gail, Director of Real Estate & Restructuring at Silverton.
'The extension of the lease with Sky Deutschland is a clear indicator of confidence in the Unterföhring office location and underlines the quality of the property as an established long-term corporate headquarters. The renewal provided planning certainty at an early stage – for Sky and the location as a whole,' said Alexander Meyer, Director and Head of Munich Office at Savills.
